This may be old news, but a few months ago I read that the World Leadership Forum selected Kansas City as a finalist for their annual Urban Renewal award, with the competition being Manchester (England), Calcutta (India), and St. Louis. Well, I never did follow up to see who won the award, but it looks like last December it was awarded to the city of St. Louis.
But don’t worry, there won’t be much of a St. Louis lovefest going on in here. So to remind everyone not to be envious, here are 10 Reasons Why St. Louis Sucks
1. They totally ripped off their major landmark from the McDonalds corporation.
2. Self proclaimed “Gateway to the west”. Pretty pompous if you ask me.
3. First settled by the French.
4. Home of the worst World Series championship team of all time (hey, if we have to put up with that “06 Steelers were worst Super Bowl team” crap, why should they get off so lightly?)
5. St. Louis style ribs stink. The sauce is runny and they pale in comparison to Texas style.
6. Ever had a Budweiser hangover?
7. Gretzky played there.
8. Tony Twist doesn’t play there anymore.
9. They stole their NFL franchise from those poor die hard football fans in Los Angeles. (wow… that was even hard for me to type)
10. It stinks so bad that I can’t even come up with a tenth good reason.

As Bugs Bunny used to say, “Thia is war.” I’m officially putting you on notice.

I live in KC but I am a STL sports fan because I grew up in the mid-MO. As far as sports go, the Cardinals did beat the Mets who a lot of people thought from the get go that they would win it all and then beat the Tigers who people thought would win it all. Next, Chiefs fans are pissed because they haven’t been to the big game in generations, while the Rams have been there twice here latey and game out with a victory…. should have two. KC, which I hope it does, still doesn’t have a hockey team. As fas as the arch goes, it kicks ace and I like it in St. Louis. Stop with the comparisons and get over it.

The funny thing is that people in Stl don’t even care about KC. Give it up. KC will never be Stl. The only thing people in stl care about is the obnoxious noise coming from the smaller bratty city to the west trying to be cool. Get over it! Why do people in KC always try to compare it to st. louis. They’re completely different cities.

#3 First Settled by the French. Yeah right. If St. Louis was anything like France it would be paradise. It isn’t. Paris, hell, even a hay bale in France puts St. Louis to shame.
Stupid list by the way….

Just more kansas/kansas city (same thing)jealously of Missouri and a much better city than whinny kc. I have lived in kc and it truely is a evil, currupt, backward mess. Get rid of the kansas thing and you would find spiritual awakening. kansas means “hell” in indian.

I moved here a few months ago and those kansas people have an attitude. They need to get a life, the world doesn’t even care if kansas exists. The best thing for Kansas City would be to change its name and banned this bunch of ingnorant babies. You’ll never catch St. Louis and Missouri poeple have humility and grace. You should be glad they don’t throw up all over you.

Whatever, this comparison between STl and KC is old. I have lived in both cities. STL people absolutely don’t care about KC. People in KC are absolutely obsessed with STL. WTF? Both cities are as different as night and day. Not even close to being similar. STL = Old, East coast, KC = newer, Western City. Which is better? Depends upon what you like. I currently live in STL if that tells you anything.

Ask anyone in the US what city comes to mind when they think of Missouri. It will be Saint Louis.

@Terri, not a fair argument, the rest of the country is too stupid to realize that most of Kansas City is in Missouri, not Kansas.
