For antique Chinese furniture that looks really great in downtown lofts go to Kincaid Antiques at 45th and State Line. It's close to downtown and the things there are cool and reasonable.

Had an amazing lunch there. Started off with potato and scallion soup, and then had the Shepherd's Pie, which was delicious...if you like Shepherd's Pie. Everything was just right, from the presentation on down. Glad my first experience was so good. I'm definitely going back.

The first time I went to the P&LD was during March Madness. My friend and I were at one of the bars having a drink when a man came up to me and said I had to leave because someone told him I was in the restroom getting sick. I did just get back from using the restroom, but I didn't get sick. I went stright in and stright out. I wasn't even drunk. I told the man that it wasn't me. He didn't care and still made me leave.

I was in there Friday June 20th with about 20 people for a birthday party. Also I want you to know that I do understand your bounces put with a lot of stuff. But I also believe they should look at who they are talking to. Again I was in there sitting and drinking with me were the V.P. of JE Dunn and the President and V.P. of the Hispanic Chamber. So this should tell you that I'm a business professonal. My wife and there wives went up on stage to dance, so I stood up to take a picture of them. Within seconds of that picture the dancer of your staff blone hair overall, and red top got down and told your bouncer blonde hair short, straight line beard down his chin and well built that I was video taping them. Your bouncer came over to me and said I'm giving you a warning that you can't video tape. I told him that I wasn't video taping anyone I was taking a picture of our wives. So I turn around and he grabbed my arm and said I giving you a warning you do it again and I will through you out personally. I was very embearassed by this type of treatment. I think your bounces need to be a little bit more professonal. I have already changed my dinner plans with the same gentleman and others out of your business because of the way your people acted. I will be calling you personally and from what I can tell I hope you answer the phone. I can tell you this the 20 something crowd will not always be there but the 35 to 50 business people will always spend money with no complaints. I just felt I was treated very rudley. Maybe as a business you care or maybe you don't.

Thank You
for your time.

Went there 6/13. Bad luck I guess. Air was out. Nothing sounded good on the limited Irish menu. My bf ordered a double crown and coke. It was quite strong almost too strong. Got the bill- $16.00!!!!!! for a like 4 oz glass. Of course drinks like this are not listed on the menu but are you kidding me. It should have been a 8oz glass of just crown for that price. Even at the most upitty resturants in KC I have never heard of such a price. We will not be going back on principal alone.

My family attended "Walking with Dinosaurs" this past weekend at the Sprint Center. After the show we walked across the street and had been standing on the sidewalk along the railing for less than a minute when a female security officer approached us and informed us that we could not "just stand and look" we asked if we could enter with our five year old son. She looked at her watch (it was 8:45PM) and said that we could enter until 9:30PM when only 21 and above could enter. As we approached a male security officer at the entrance, he looked at us and said "where do you think you're going." I stated that we wanted to look around to which he then looked at my son and stated, "not with him your not." Our first experience with the new Power and Light District was not at all pleasurable and this is not the first comment we've heard about the same problem. It's nice that Kansas City has the district, bringing business to downtown but as residents of KC MO and KC KS, we won't be back to the district anytime soon. Management may want to give their employees classes in basic etiquette before they place them in public.

After waiting for 1 1/2 hours for a table last Saturday night, our group of six decided to split up so we could eat. We were nice about splitting up only because we were starving! When the waitress came over to our table, she questioned us on how we got seated without menus. She thought we just sat down at her table without permission. Thankfully the hostess was behind her with menus. We ordered drinks from the waitress and she rudely told us that they do not have Bud Light Lime beer. When my husband told her that we had already had one from the bar, she still told us that they didn't have it and was really snotty about it. (Guess what! They DO have it!) She brought it back and slammed it down on the table. We decided against pushing this issue as we did not want her to sneeze in our food or something! Personally I was so embarrassed as I took the five other people there at my suggestion. Needless to say, it was my second time and LAST time to be there! How sad! The Power and Light needs a good Mexican restaurant! Tengo is not it and after reading some of these other comments, they won't be around for long.
